Visiting place Tachikawa City School Lunch Center and a elementary school in the city
Tour Highlight Participants learn about school lunch in Japan through visit to actual fields. The tour showcases two types of kitchen (a central kitchen and an individual school kitchen) and visits classrooms where school children are enjoying their school lunch.

Tour Highlight Participants will explore the world of umami, one of the five basic tastes and Japanese cuisine’s fundamental component by visiting umami seasoning factory and expand understanding of amino acid role in nutrition and health by visiting Client Innovation Center.

Tour Highlight Participants tour the Oishisa Design Studio, which promotes good taste and health, and attend its olive oil seminar.
Participants learn about olive oils marketed in Japan, including those produced in Japan, and participate in an olive oil tasting event.

Tour Highlight Participants visit one of the leading Japanese company cafeterias where the cutting edge industrial robot technologies are implemented. Participants will also have a chance to take a meal in cafeteria style.

▼Healthy Meal [Smart Meal] Seminar & Tour (ET07)

Visiting place In the Congress site Room G502 and TANITA corporation
Tour Highlight In 2018, Japan launched the Healthy Meal and Food Environment certification system with the goal of achieving a healthy food environment. The system certifies restaurants that serve meals that meet the healthy meal (Smart Meal) criteria. Participants of this educational tour learn about the certification system in a seminar style and then actually try the “Smart Meal” at a restaurant.

▼Food×Carbon Footprint of Products Game Creation (ET08)

Visiting place In the Congress site Room G502
Tour Highlight Food affects not only the health of people but also the health of the earth. But their link is hard to explain.
In this workshop, participants are asked to work in teams to create fun card games that encourage players to think about the environmental burden of food.
The "carbon cards” used in games feature names of foods on the front and their carbon footprint on the back. This workshop invites participants to explore food and nutrition issues from the perspective of Earth.
